Spartan on 3Win8: shields, swords and up to 25 free games

The spin button on this one says Play, not Spin. Small thing, but it's the first difference you notice from the other 3Win8 slots.

Spartan only has 9 lines, so a full-line spin at 0.10 is 0.90. The bar is stone-coloured with Lines, a per-line Bet with plus and minus, a Bet/Win box, Auto and Play. After a win, Auto turns into Gamble. I didn't see what the gamble involves.

The scatter is a massed Spartan army. It has to land on reels 1-2-3 or 3-4-5, and three, four or five of them give 10, 15 or 25 free games. It pays too: 100 for five, 10 for four, 5 for three, 1 for two. The wild is a crested helmet that only shows up on reels 2, 3 and 4 and doubles any win it's part of.

The rest of the paytable: a character portrait at the top (10,000 for five), then a bronze shield (5000), a ring and a pair of crossed swords (1000 each). The metallic card letters pay 300 for A and K, 200 for Q and J, 50 for 10 and 9. The Chinese title on the pay screen, 斯巴达, just means "Sparta".
