Jin Ping Mei: a Ming-era story slot on 3Win8
A 9-line 3D slot on 3Win8 styled after the classic Chinese novel, with a scroll-style rules page and Grand, Major and Minor boxes above the reels.
The rules screen is a paper scroll, and it's more honest than most. It names the cast straight from the old Ming-dynasty novel: Pan Jin-Lien, Li Ping-Er and Pon Chuen-Mai as the "primary roles", then Wu Da-Lang with a list of props as the "secondary roles". Jewellery boxes, a pipa, scrolls, a small fan, window shades, combs, wine and a mirror.
The reels match. Lattice windows, tea sets, lanterns and cart wheels, all rendered in 3D inside a wooden house.
Nine lines, read from the left
The scroll also explains the scoring in three short lines. Wins count from the left of each betting line, only the highest combination on a line pays, and your total is the bet multiplied by the odds on each winning line. There are 9 lines. The old page said the same, which is one of the few things it got right.
What I couldn't find is a table of symbol values, so I can't tell you what each character pays. Three bonus games are named (Free Spins, "The Secret Box" and "Send Her A Gift") but none of the screenshots shows how they start.
Wu Da-Lang is the scatter. In the shot above, three of him on the top row paid 0.06 on a 0.02 bet.
The buttons along the bottom are Select Line, Line Bet, Max Bet and Auto Play, with a big Spin on the right. Bets in the screenshots go from 2 lines at 0.01 up to all 9 at 0.10 (0.90 a spin). The Grand box above the reels sat around 14,450 and moved between shots.
