Star996: a short, honest look at an agent-sold betting brand
Star996 was listed as a sports and casino brand sold through agents. There is very little to verify, so here is what is known and what I'd check first.
The gold logo above is the only image the old Star996 page had. No lobby, no bet slip, no game screen.
The text was two sentences. It called Star996 an online gambling company covering sports betting, casino games, poker and bingo, and then stacked up licensing claims: a gaming association for the sports side, a Philippine licence for the casino side. No licence number, no company name. I've dropped those claims because there is nothing behind them to check.
So what's left is the pattern, which is the same as every other brand on the platform list. You don't sign up on a website. An agent creates a game ID and password for you, you top up by bank transfer or Touch 'n Go to that agent, and when you want to cuci you ask the agent to send the money back.
If you're still curious
I'd treat it like any agent-run brand I know nothing about. Put in the minimum, play a little, then ask for a small cuci straight away and see how long it takes. If you want to try, you'll need to get a Star996 game ID from an agent first.

The old page claimed licences but gave no licence number or company name, and we could not confirm any. Online betting like this is not licensed in Malaysia.
