Sparta on Mega888: warships, shields and three jackpots

Five of these six screenshots were taken at the absolute minimum: 1 line, 0.01 a spin. The balance ticks down from 101.04 to 101.02 one cent at a time. If you just want to see how a Mega888 game behaves before committing, that's a sensible way to do it.

Not the same as Spartan

The lobby also has Spartan, and the names are close enough to mix up. They're different games. Sparta has a desert-and-bronze frame, gold carved card letters and up to 30 lines. Spartan uses 9 coloured lines and has a Dollar Ball button.

The Sparta reels hold a red-sailed warship with an eye painted on the bow, a black-figure amphora and a wheeled catapult loaded with a spear. There's also a bronze shield with the Spartan lambda, a short sword trailing a red ribbon and a row of soldiers behind their shields. A helmeted warrior close-up appears too. The card ranks run 9 to A.

Thirty lines in a strange order

The line numbers down each side go 4, 2, 24, 20, 16 and so on, not 1 to 30 in order, so finding a particular line takes a second look. The first screenshot has all 30 lines on at a bet of 1.20.

Underneath are CURRENT BALANCE, LINES and BET with their own minus and plus buttons, a WIN box, AUTO START and SPIN. SPIN turns into STOP while the reels move. The MAJOR, RANDOM and MINOR counters along the top all move between captures (Major ranges from about 650 to 2,025), so they are pools. Nothing says what wins them.
